I'm a hobbyist photographer, a school counselor, a health junkie, and a mom. But above all, I'm just a woman living my truth. My biggest happiness in life is to savour each moment while it happens. That's all. That's everything.

Eye Of the Storm

It's hurricane season... and we're expecting one tonight. It's been reported category 4 with caution to evacuate, but has since been downgraded to category 2. It's expected to continue downgrading to tropical storm status by the time it hits the South Shore.

I'm not too worried.

I'm expecting power outages through the night (which is fine with me because I often sleep then, and hopefully won't be aware of it).

We're storing water for drinking and flushing.

We're charging the battery-powered dvd player... just in case.

We have a camping cooker.

We're set.

Here's hoping this is the most we'll see of the storm.

  1. I see so many hurricane news everywhere when here in Dubai, it hasn't not rained since March!

    Take care!

  2. I can't imagine living where there are hurricanes, but then again I live where there are earthquakes. You can not escape nature, nor would I want to. I'm glad it was downgraded.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before.
The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
